McCain Puts Election Before Country

posted in: Politics — Chris McElroy aka NameCritic @ 6:24 pm

John McCain’s choice for Vice President shows he and the republican party is more concerned about winning the election than they are about America. Choosing Palin as VP is a choice that attempts to get women voters who liked Hillary Clinton to vote for John McCain.

The choice for Vice President is supposed to be about choosing someone who can take over the duties of President if something happens to the President. The republicans keep saying she has executive experience. So did Mitt Romney, Hucklebee, and Giuliani, but they had a lot more of that experience than Palin does.

So his choice was about winning the election, not choosing the most qualified person to replace him if something happens to him. They want you to compare her experience to Obama. You should be comparing her experience to the others he could have chosen. He chose the least qualified VP he could.

That shows that Obama was right when he said John McCain lacks judgement. When Obama was faced with that same choice, he chose someone who is qualified to take office immediately if something happened to him. McCain chose someone who cannot.

For John McCain, the choice was even more important due to his age. No, I am not attacking older people. I’m older people. But even in my own small business, I am having to plan ahead so that if something happens to me, someone is there that is qualified to take my place.

John McCain chose someone to help him get elected rather than doing his duty to this country by choosing someone to replace him if the worst occurs. Just like Bush chose badly when he chose Roberts to head FEMA and we were not prepared for a disaster like katrina, John McCain, if elected, has chosen to leave this country unprepared for a disaster like the President becoming ill.

This shows the republican party is only concerned about elections and cronyism and not concerned about this country.

On another note, they also chose someone who has been friendly to the oil companies in republican controlled Alaska. They claim she took on the party when it comes to ethics, yet she is under investigation for ethics violations herself in a state full of republicans involved in corruption.

I believe voters can see through the ruse and will act accordingly by electing Barack Obama. The first important decision by both candidates has now been made.

Barack Obama chose Joe Biden because Joe Biden would be the best person to take over if something happens to him. He could have made the politically correct choice and guaranteed his win over John McCain byu choosing Hillary Clinton as his running mate, but he put the country first and the election second.

John McCain did not pick the best person to replace him if something happens. He made a political choice to try to improve his chances of being elected.

This first test of the two candidates running for president clearly shows Obama is more ready to lead this country and cares about this country more than John McCain.

Did Bush Instigate Russia - Georgia Conflict to Help John McCain?

posted in: Politics, War — Chris McElroy aka NameCritic @ 11:45 am

Would the republicans instigate a conflict just to help retain the presidency? Many people believe they allowed 911 to happen so they could get the war they wanted with Iraq. So is it possible they would start a conflict that could be quickly resolved and boost John McCain’s chances for election? Putin says they did.

From the NYTimes

As Russia struggled to rally international support for its military action in Georgia, Vladimir V. Putin, the country’s paramount leader, lashed out at the United States on Thursday, contending that the White House may have orchestrated the conflict to benefit one of the candidates in the American presidential election.

In tones that seemed alternately angry and mischievous, he suggested that the Bush administration may have tried to create a crisis that would influence American voters in the choice of a successor to President Bush.

“The suspicion would arise that someone in the United States created this conflict on purpose to stir up the situation and to create an advantage for one of the candidates in the competitive race for the presidency in the United States,” Mr. Putin said in an interview with CNN. He added, “They needed a small victorious war.”

Mr. Putin did not specify which candidate he had in mind, but there was no doubt that he was referring to Senator John McCain, the Republican.

On Thursday, Mr. Putin, now prime minister, also said Russian defense officials believed that United States citizens were in the conflict area supporting the Georgian military when it attacked the separatist region of South Ossetia.

Well, what do you think?

McCain Doesn’t Even Know Who We Are Fighting Against

posted in: Politics, War — Chris McElroy aka NameCritic @ 9:48 am

John McCain says he knows about the Iraq war and Obama does not. McCain says he is the best judge of what we should or should not do in the middle east and Obama is not. Then check this out and tell me you want John McCain to make decisions about the Middle East.

Anyway, McCain, was holding a press conference in Amman, Jordan, with his potential veeps by his side. Everything was going just hunky dory until McCain said this: “Well, it’s common knowledge and has been reported in the media that al-Qaeda is going back into Iran and is receiving training and are coming back into Iraq. That’s well known and it’s unfortunate.”

Oops. (The Raw Story has the video.)

Then Holy Joe leans over after an uncomfortable silence and whispers in St. John’s ear that it is Shiite insurgents who are going in and out of Iran, not al-Qaeda (whose fighters are Sunni and sworn enemies of the Iranians.) McCain turned four shades of red and coughed and sputtered into the microphone: “I’m sorry; the Iranians are training the extremists, not al Qaeda. Not al Qaeda. I’m sorry,”

John McCain doesn’t even know who we are fighting against, let alone what to do about it. Just because you fought in a previous war as a soldier does not mean you are ready to be Commander in Chief. John McCain was not a general. He has never led a war. So he has no more experience at running a war than you or I.

If Politics is War Obama Just Nuked McCain

posted in: Politics — Chris McElroy aka NameCritic @ 9:26 am

The criticism that the republican party and John Mccain have had about Barack Obama is that he is not experienced, that he will raise taxes, that he will not invest in alternative energy, and other soundbites they have been putting out there no longer hold any water.

In one speech, Barack Obama answered the critics. He told us what he believes in and exactly what he will do as president.

What has John McCain done? Only put out ads that make false claims about Barack Obama.

What does john McCain believe in? George W Bush. We don’t know anything else he believes in because his ads are all about Barack Obama. We do know he believes in George Bush because he voted with Bush on 90% of all bills Bush wanted passed.

We also know that McCain does believe offshore drilling will solve our dependence on oil. He wants you to believe that giving new drilling leases to the same corporations that Bush has been giving tax breaks to, the same corporations that are recording record profits, is the answer to our dependence on oil.

That’s like saying let’s supply local drug dealers with more street corners so that foreigners can’t sell dope on those corners. It wouldn’t solve the drug problem, but it would make sure that our dealers are the ones who profit from the addiction.

So it seems the choice is clear. If you believe that george W. Bush has done a good job of running this country, vote for John McCain because he will be almost as good as George Bush.

If you realize that Bush started out with a deficit and we now have huge national debt instead. If you believe that we should have finished the war in Afghanistan and gone after Osama Bin Laden. If you are tired of all of the tax breaks that go to the wealthy and to corporations like Exxon who reported record profits. If you realize that middle class means that largest percentage of Americans who do not make over $250,000 per year and that they are the ones that deserve tax breaks.

Then vote for Barack Obama!

Obama Biden Ticket Strikes Fear Into McCain

posted in: Politics — Chris McElroy aka NameCritic @ 12:03 am

The worst has happened. For John McCain that is. Obama has picked Joe Biden as his running mate. The McCain camp was so fearful of this happening, they had their attack ads already produced, just in case.

Their attack ads are so weak it will not affect Obama’s campaign at all. He said, she said ads is what they are. During a debate, when one politician is running against the other, they say a lot of things to either show themselves in a better light or to discourage their opponents.

It happens in every race, including when John McCain was running in the primaries. So the ads were stupid. Now McCain has to try to choose someone who has never said anything derogatory about him. His choices are very very few.

Back when McCain had an open mind and was considered a maverick, (He isn’t anymore. Now he is a party puppet), conservative republicans had nothing nice to say about him. During the primaries, even Rush Limbaugh, the drug addict, had nothing nice to say about his fellow republican. Bill O’Riley the pinhead had nothing nice to say about him. Hannity, the guy who has his own america that is different from everyone else’s America, had nothing nice to say about him.

His fellow republicans in the senate had many harsh things to say about him over the years. Those he ran against, like Mitt Romney certainly had nothing nice to say about him.

So who does John McCain choose? There has been talk that he should choose a woman to run as his VP. Even then, only his wife would be available based on finding someone who never said anything bad about him in public.

Unless the ticket is going to say Elect McCain and McCain, whoever he chooses wil hurt him because the democrats will use the same attacks that McCain is using, against him. His current ads are going to backfire on him and the race will be lost to him and the republicans.

First let’s use John McCain’s own words; The economy is the number 1 issue. So what does John McCain think about John McCain and his economic expertise?

What does Mitt Romney have to say about John McCain?

Something few people picked up on at Saddleback. McCain stated he is a Federalist and that he thinks states should decide about the gay marriage issue. A Federalist believes in centralized government, not in states right to decide laws for themselves.

And when Mitt Romney compares Barack Obama to John McCain, what is his opinion on who would make a better president?

McCain will pick Romney. Democrats will use Romney’s statements about John McCain the same way McCain uses Joe Biden’s statements now. At least joe Biden never said McCain would be a better president than Obama.

John McCain The Real Elitist

posted in: Politics — Chris McElroy aka NameCritic @ 9:25 pm

If you believe that homebuyers are at fault for the housing and foreclosure crisis, vote for john mccain. If you believe that lenders and other were responsible, vote for Obama. McCain is an elitist that is out of touch with the reality of being middle class or poor in this country.

He said at saddleback that he considers you wealthy if you make 5 million dollars per year, so someone who makes 3 million per year is middle class? When he talks about tax cuts for the middle class, he is talking about people who are wealthy getting those cuts.

McCain Obama Saddleback - Opinions

posted in: Politics — Chris McElroy aka NameCritic @ 9:46 am

I was just reading William Kristol’s opinion on the saddleback political forum. It’s amazing to watch how people can see the same debate or forum and come to different conclusions. It also seems that immediate responses by political pundits are usually a little more truthful.

After each side has a day or two, they start to spin the story the way they want it to go. The further it is from your memory, the easier it is for these pundits to make you believe you saw something else entirely.

Immediately after the forum, even the fox news pundits said Obama did very very well at Saddleback. Now when you listen, it seems he did not do so well. Hmmm . . . I wonder what changed from right after they heard it to now.

Showdown at Saddleback
by William Kristol

Obama made no big mistakes. But his tendency to somewhat windy generalities meant he wasn’t particularly compelling. McCain, who went second, was crisp by contrast, and his anecdotes colorful.

Obama’s windy generalities? To every quest McCain was asked, he responded, “Can I tell you a story?” or “Can I share an anecdote with you?” He may as well have started each answer with, Once upon a time.

Now I’m not entirely unbiased (!), so I don’t quite trust my initial judgment in such matters.

Don’t worry, we don’t.

So while Obama talked of confronting evil, McCain spoke of defeating it. Obama took the view that evil is generally abroad in the world; McCain focused on radical Islam and 9/11. Obama claimed that all of us must be metaphorical “soldiers” against evil; McCain paid tribute to actual American soldiers. And McCain couldn’t resist saying again Saturday night that if he has to follow Osama bin Laden to the gates of hell to get him and bring him to justice, he’ll do so.

President Bush said basically the same thing, so I’m not holding my breath.

Now, Mr. Kristol, I notice you entirely avoided the question that McCain entirely avoided, so I’ll bring it up here.

Warren asked McCain to define rich. He asked for a specific number. The reason for the question was very clear. All politicians like to say they are for the working class, the middle class, and they want to give tax breaks to the middle class and the poor. But they never define those who are middle class, rich, or poor.

One politician, I won’t name any names, but his initials are John McCain, says he wants to give tax cuts to the middle class. However, he defines anyone making 4 million, nine hundred and ninety nine thousand dollars per year as part of the middle class according to his answer to that question.

He was asked to define rich and give a number. He chose to say 5 million per year is rich. He said his answer would be misused or whatever, but it showed that he was unwilling to give a number.

The reason for that is that his tax cuts will be given to people who make a lot of money, a lot more than the real middle class that supports this country. When he says middle class in reference to his tax cuts, he raises the bar so that those tax cuts will go to the rich, just like Bush’s tax cuts.

When Obama talks about the tax cuts he wants to give, he gives a number, those making less than $250,000 per year. These are the people that need tax cuts.

McCain’s ad claims Obama wants to raise taxes. The truth is that Obama wants to repeal the tax cuts that went to the wealthy and make sure the next tax cuts go to people making less than $250,000 per year.

McCain claims this is redistribution of wealth. It is just correcting the redistribution of wealth the republicans have done in the last 8 years. They redistributed the wealth to the wealthy.

McCain = 4 more years of failed Bush/Cheney energy policies, 4 more years of the record spending of the Bush administration, 4 more years of failed world diplomacy, and 4 more years of Bush’s failed economic policy.

That is the change that Obama represents. Changing the direction of those failed policies.

Will Colin Powell be V.P.

posted in: Main, News, Politics — Chris McElroy aka NameCritic @ 7:01 pm

colin powell

After seeing all the hype about different choices for Vice President of the United States, It seems that the people of the great United States has one of the greatest leaders in history waiting to be called again for public service. Whatever your ethnic background might be, it is certain, you as an American, can see that General Colin Powell (ret.) would make the best choice for this position.

If you as an American could see into the future it would be much simpler to make a smart choice but as you know, that’s impossible. It is you, the American Voter, which still makes the final choice.

Listening to Fox News, CNN, MSNBC or any local news service it a race between two men that want to do something for our country, so why not choose a running mate that has for most of his life and career been serving his Government and country?

This blog may piss some people off and hopefully awaken other to get off there duffs and start to think as an American remember this is our country and we still control the vote.

Republican Party Scammers and Scum

posted in: Politics, War — Chris McElroy aka NameCritic @ 5:30 pm

Lets start by saying all politicians tell lies and all politicians make promises they will never keep regardless of which party they are in. However, in this presidential election and in the last one, the republicans have really gone over the line.

Let’s start with the swift boat stuff they did with John Kerry. Here are some facts;

1. John Kerry was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran who served his country honorably.

2. GW Bush dodged active military duty by staying in the National Guard where he was missing part of the time and serving as an aide to a politician for the rest of the time.

Yet, the Republican Party attacked Kerry’s war record when Bush’s was weak, and that is putting Bush’s military record in the most positive light possible. It worked because people believed what the republicans and Bush told them.

They planned the Iraq war in the 90s, long before bush was president and long before 911. However, after 911, they told everyone the reason they were going to attack Iraq was that they were somehow involved in 911 and terrorism and that he had weapons of mass destruction and Iraq was an immediate threat to the US.

Here are some proven facts;

1. Saddam Hussein refused to cooperate with Bin Laden according to CIA reports.

2. There were no weapons of mass destruction.

3. Iraq had nothing to do with the 911 attacks.

But once again, people believed Bush and the republican hawks who wanted war with Iraq. There are still people who believe some of these things. There are still people who believe that we found WMDs even though we did not. There are still people who believe Hussein and Iraq planned the 911 attacks when in reality, it was Bin Laden in Afghanistan.

Because of the focus on Iraq, Bin Laden is still out there and Afghanistan is in turmoil because Bush, like his father, doesn’t know how to finish a war or doesn’t care to.

Now, the republicans are spreading rumors about Obama because they know they are losing the race and they will do absolutely anything to stay in power. They also know from all of the events above that people will believe anything they say.

They are trying to say Obama is a Muslim when he is not. They are spreading these lies. They have no regard for the truth at all. They have no taste for fairness or honesty at all. They hire people to do smear campaigns that ignore any truth because again, they know that some people are dumb enough to believe the rumors.

Jerome Corsi should really be ashamed of himself. He is a total sellout and a liar. He claims his book is objective, but in the very next breath admits he is against Obama and trying to convince people not to vote for him. He makes up stuff in his book knowing that some people are too dumb and lazy to do their own research and they will just believe him.

He was involved in the swift boat attacks against Kerry also. That isn’t surprising. It just goes to his pattern of doing everything he can to deceive the public. The books he writes are total fabrications and he knows it. Many republicans, like McCain, know it also. Yet they do not denounce the book because they also want people to believe the lies so they can get elected based on lying to the public.

If McCain had one ounce of integrity, he would denounce Dick Morris and his book and other attacks on Obama he knows are not true. If McCain had any integrity at all, he would have stuck to his values and not endorsed the party line by simply offering another Bush term. If McCain had any integrity at all, he could talk about the issues rather than silly, childish ads that show how jealous he is of Obama.

There is a lot of talk about the “experience” you need to be President of the US. According to the Constitution and what we teach our children, anyone can be president as long as they are old enough and that they were born in the US.

Having experience in Washington just means that you are part of the problem. Washington is corrupt. If you have been part of that system for as long as McCain has, then you have not helped change that. So experience is not all it’s cracked up to be is it?

And lets go back to that old constitution thing. John McCain was not born in the US. He wants to smear Obama, but doesn’t want to talk about that too much does he? Fox news has not done any stories on that either. Imagine that. Yet they give Jerome R Corsi plenty of airtime even though everything in his book has been debunked as garbage.

And Fox news is putting plenty of time into John Edwards cheating on his wife while not bringing up how John McCain cheated on his wife while she was in the hospital after a car accident.

Fair and balanced? Yeah, right. We need to stop accepting the fact that politicians lie and we need to start investigating what they say rather than taking their word for it.

If I start a company and tell you to send me $1500 and I will return $3000 to you in 3 months, then I do not do that, you can sue me and I will be prosecuted for grand larceny and/or fraud.

How much would you sell your vote for? I wouldn’t sell mine, but your vote is worth more than $1500. Your vote is priceless, but for the sake of argument let’s put a dollar value on it of $1500.

If a politician lies to get your vote or misrepresents what they stand for in order to get you to give them your vote, how is that different from someone cheating you out of money?

Because we let politicians get by with a little lying and accepted it as “just politics”, they keep taking more and more advantage of that. It’s like a child. He or she skips school one day. You ignore it and just say to yourself, “children are children” and do not punish them for it, soon they are skipping school more often, hanging with the wrong crowd, soon maybe getting involved in drugs, or worse.
Because we allowed a little lying from politicians, now they believe they can do anything they want and say anything they want and they are not accountable for anything.

You would think that with the number of republicans that have been indicted over the past 8 years, they would not throw so many rocks. But as long as they keep spreading rumors about the other guy, they know you won’t look too close at them.
